Excellent Study Bible

By Joe Felim

I have been giving Life Application Study Bibles away for about 8 years now. The study notes are very good. On the top half of each page you have the actual text of Scripture. On the bottom half of each page you have the study notes. The study notes are brief descriptions/interpretations of each individual verse. Of course not all verses are interpreted for us, largely due to space constraints. All the major verses are covered. What’s really neat about this bible is that the study notes really help you to see how any particular verse of Scripture applies to you personally in your day to day life. It breaks each verse down so that it’s easy to understand. Hence the name Life APPLICATION Study Bible. Another neat thing about this bible is that this bible is really right about down the middle as far as Theology is concerned. It’s a bible that pretty much all denominations can agree with. Anyone from Petecostal Assemblies of God types, all the way to the other side of Southern Baptist Conservative types, or middle of the road Calvary Chapel types and everyone in between can enjoy and apprecaite. The reason this bible can be appreciated by such a wide variety of groups is not at all because it’s wishy washy on Theology but, rather, it’s simply because it majors on application. That’s what’s so great about it. Everyone from a brand new believer all the way to a well seasoned Bible Teacher or Pastor can greatly benefit from the study notes in this bible.

If you are looking for a more Doctrinally or Theologically centered bible then I higly recomend John Macarthur’s “The Macarthurs Study Bible. Or if you’re more the Pentecostal type more centered on the gifts of the Spirit, try The “New Spirit Filled Bible” by Jack Hayford. If you’re more on the Calvanist, Reformed Theology type then try the “Reformation Study Bible” by R. C. Sproul. I believe Chuck Smith has also recently come out with his own Study Bible for you Calvary Chapel types.

With all that said, I still highly recomend this Life Application Study Bible. All of the above mentioned groups and many more will appreciate this Bible.

Life And Healing

By Joe Felim

I started reading bibless in depth 3 years ago, and I have purchased just about every translation and study bibles in print. I was looking for God, for healing, for insights into what it really means to be a Christian, how to find release from the bondage of addictions and idolatry of any sort, and how to grow spiritually.

I purchased this bibles in August 2002. Since then, I have found answers in it that no amount of personal or group bibles study using other bibless, Christian radio, professional counseling by therapists or pastors, church attendance, or prayer have given me.

Almost every page has foot-notes, devotionals, in-depth comments, which teach about addictions and how to gain freedom, details about the road to recovery, all within a Christ-centered framework using the 12 Alcoholics Anonymous steps.

You can look up just about any life-experience topic in the excellently organized index/concordance in the back of the bibles, to focus on passages which help you understand who you are, what you do, why you do it, and ways to gain release from whatever plagues you, and get closer to God in order to gain peace and restoration.

I have abandoned all my other bibless in favor of this one. I would urge anyone who needs help in self-control, discipline, overcoming compulsive/obsessive behaviors, to dig into the Life Recovery bibles. You will be blessed abundantly.

If you simply want to grow spiritually, and you have no addictions, this bibles is also for you.

Every day I can look forward to new insights and teachings in this bibles, which I can apply immediately to my life.

The text is easy to read for such a large bibles, the NLT translation is easy to understand, and the footnotes and other devotionals do not interfere with my enjoyment of every page.

There is another Life Recovery bibles in the NIV (New International Version), which in my opinion is not nearly as good as this one

The Beginning of Messianic Jewish Bible Institut

By Joe Felim

The mission and purpose of the MJBI is very specific - to raise up leaders for the end-time Jewish harvest and plant Messianic Jewish congregations around the world.  This makes the MJBI unique from other training institutions. Jewish ministry requires specialized preparation.

The predecessor of the MJBI, the Messianic training center in St. Petersburg, Russia, began in 1994.  Due to the overwhelming success of the first Messianic Festival of Jewish Music and Dance held there in 1993, some 2,350 of the 18,000 who attended responded to the alter calls.  Over 300 joined the newly formed Messianic congregation.  Most were new believers.  This presented a great challenge: how to disciple a congregation made up almost entirely of baby believers without a team of mature leaders to shepherd and train them?  God’s answer was very clear: Raise up leaders.  Shortly after, the first Messianic training center began with 80 students.  Today, many of these graduates are leading Messianic congregations throughout the former Soviet Union.

As time went on, it became obvious this move of God’s spirit in the “Land of the North” was much bigger than any of us realized.  Tens of thousands had responded to altar calls at festivals and new Messianic Jewish congregations were being planted.  Leaders were desperately needed.  Something unprecedented in Jewish Ministry occurred.  A number of independent ministries discerned that it was God’s will to join hands and work together as one!  Thus, the MJBI was birthed as a collective effort of various Jewish and non-Jewish ministries working to train leaders for the Jewish harvest.

This promised awakening and re-gathering of the Jewish people is much larger than any one ministry can accomplish.  It will take all of us working together and laying down our differences and ambitions to accomplish His purposes for the Jewish people.  The MJBI is just such a ministry, perhaps the first-fruits of what is ahead in Jewish work.

Please pray regularly for the MJBI and stand with us financially as we seek to prepare laborers for this unique and prophetic harvest …for the fields are white for harvest but the laborers, they are few.
